Welcome to the 2014 Central Virginia Walk!
Kidney Walk is the nation's largest walk to fight kidney disease. Held in nearly 100 communities, the event raises awareness and funds lifesaving programs that educate and support patients, their families and those at risk.
DID YOU KNOW?
Fundraising for Kidney Walk is fun and easy! We have made it simple by outlining 5 Steps to Fundraising Success which can be found in your walk center and by clicking the Fundraising Tools link to your left.
Still need more information? Contact Susan Manuel.
In recognition for your hard work, you can earn great prizes. Every walker who raises at least $100 will receive an official Kidney Walk t-Shirt. Our average walker raises $200 and many become Kidney Walk Top Fundraisers, an honor reserved for those who raise $1,000 or more for the Kidney Walk. Donations are still being accepted!
Your dollars are already hard at work funding programs and services right here in Central Virgina. We sincerely appreciate all you have done to fight kidney disease and increase awareness for organ donation. Below is some important follow-up information to keep in mind.
- Donations – Additional donations can be mailed to Attn: 2014 Central Virginia Walk 1622 East Parham Rd, Richmond, VA 23228. Please be sure to include your team name and walker name to ensure it is properly credited. The Kidney Walk website will also continue accepting donations until November 25, 2014.
- Incentives – You can continue to fundraise to earn incentives through November 25, 2014. If you have earned an incentive, you will receive an email communication roughly 6 weeks after the event.
- Matching Gifts – Be sure to ask your employer if they match gifts. Reach out to human resources and ask for a matching gift form. Then email, fax, or mail it to our office and we will handle it from there.
- Pictures –
If you have any pictures you would like to share, please or email them to email@example.com or tag with
#kidneywalk. We will post pictures on our facebook page shortly. Like our
page so you'll get the update in your newsfeed: www.facebook.com/NKFVA
- Kidney Cars - While the walk is over, I want to let you know about an opportunity to still raise funds for the Kidney Walk that will count toward your incentives. During the next two weeks, you can encourage someone to donate a vehicle to the National Kidney Foundation and the net proceed can support your fundraising efforts. If you know someone with an old car, this opportunity is a win-win since everyone is looking for a nice tax deduction as the calendar year draws to a close. To learn more, visit www.KidneyCars.org
