Thank you to EVERYONE who participated in this Year’s Walk!  It was a tremendous success, with $143,000 raised as of the Walk Day, with more coming in.  We are confident we will hit our $150,000 goal!  All the money that was turned in yesterday will be posted on the website by Friday, March 12.

It was a beautiful Walk day with over 2,000 people in attendance.  Highlights included having Alonzo Mourning attend the event to meet, greet and sign autographs and having NBC6 Meteorologist John Gerard serve as the Master of Ceremonies.  AvMed’s President and COO Ed Hannum and NKFF Board President Transplant Surgeon, Dr. Tom Peters were on hand to welcome walkers and thank sponsors.  Mrs. Florida International was in attendance helping to raise awareness of kidney disease.  Walgreens was recognized for their successful Kidney Awareness Campaign during the month of January.

Thank YOU to all of you who worked so hard to fund raise, especially in difficult economic times.  Your hard work paid off and as a result you have helped us in our efforts to slow or stop the progression of kidney disease in South Florida through the programs and services of the National Kidney Foundation of Florida!
