What to Expect on Walk Day and Other Important Information

1.      Where is the walk located?
The St. Louis Kidney Walk takes place at Laclede Park on the Saint Louis University Campus near the corner of Olive Street and North Compton Avenue. Use the Olive Parking Garage address 3338 Olive Street, St. Louis, MO in your navigational systems to arrive at the walk. For directions CLICK HERE. You should park in the Olive Parking garage and walk south out of the garage to arrive to the walk site.


2.      What time should I be at the walk?

The Kidney Walk starts at 8:00 AM- registration, breakfast snacks, health and wellness tents, entertainment, and more will be going on prior to the opening ceremony which will begin at 9:30 AM before walkers take off on their choice of 1 or 2 mile walk route at 10:00 AM.


3.      Where should I park?
Complimentary parking is available in the Olive Parking Garage (3338 Olive Street, St. Louis, MO) adjacent to the Walk site.  The garage is located on the corner of Olive Street and North Compton Avenue.  When you are exiting the garage following the Walk please make sure to let them know you participated in the Kidney Walk so they do not charge you for parking.

 
4.      What should I do with any cash or checks when we arrive?
ALL walkers should check in at the registration tent upon arrival at the Walk.  We will ensure that your registration is up to date and you can turn in any remaining cash and checks.  Additionally, you can register anyone who is walking with you who did not yet register.  We will also be giving out Kidney Walk stickers to anyone who made a donation, so stop by get your sticker and wear it proudly!


5.      Who gets a t-shirt, and where should we pick them up?
Every walker who raises $100 will receive a Kidney Walk t-shirt.  Walkers who have raised $1,000 or more will earn a special long sleeved Top Fundraiser t-shirt. If you have not yet received your shirt, you will get a redemption ticket at the registration tent, and will then be directed to pick up your t-shirt.  


6.      What is a good place for our team to meet?
Great team meeting places are next in front of the stage or by the food area.  Walk teams who raise $5,000 by April 21st will get a Team Headquarters table in our NEW VIP area located near the gazebo!


7.      What do we do with our team banners?
You can decorate the banner prior to the event or the morning of the walk.  They are a great way to identify your team on walk day and tell others why you’re walking.


8.      Will there be food and beverages at the walk?
Yes!  We have a number of in-kind donors who have provided snacks and beverages for the Walk.  Please come by our hospitality tent to try out their products.


9.      Is the walk handicap accessible?
Yes, the course is handicap accessible.  The 1 or 2 mile walk routes will be on the walking paths of the beautiful St. Louis Unversity Campus and will not cross any major roads.


10.    Are dogs welcome?
No, unfortunately pets are not allowed at the Walk site.  Thank you for understanding.


11.    Is the walk rain or shine?
All Kidney Walks are rain or shine. If there are extenuating circumstances, NKF will alert Walkers of any change in plans with a email to all registered Walkers.
