Goal: $2,500.00
Achieved: $3,237.00

Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal! This is an exciting opportunity for us to work together to help people understand the need for early detection of kidney disease. In addition to raising funds for research and help for patients and their families, the Kidney Walk is a great way to bring the community together!

Please support me with a donation by selecting the "Sponsor Me" button. It doesn't matter how much you donate, whether it's $10 or $100, but every little bit helps and is appreciated equally.

Why I'm Walking the Kidney Walk

This link ought to cover it: http://snickies.wordpress.com/2009/09/12/something-to-brighten-your-day/

I was actually born with a birth defect that affected my kidney function and development. To this day, I have chronic kidney failure, and while I am followed regularly by a specialist, my condition will never be cured. That being said, there are plenty of people out there with kidney ailments FAR worse than mine, and the money we raise from this walk will be helping all those who need it.

- Chronic kidney disease is a public health problem affecting 26 million Americans
- Risk factors include diabetes, high blood pressure and family history
- One in nine American adults have kidney disease and most don’t know it
- 92,000 people are waiting for organ transplants
- 17 people die each day waiting for an organ transplant

Thanks again for your support (and if you plan on coming to the walk in Pittsburgh to be a member of the team, I will be wearing a Penguins jersey, so feel free to do the same)
