Ask your lawmakers to help promote kidney disease research and education and protect access to care for dialysis patients by cosponsoring the CKD Improvement in Research and Treatment Act (S. 538/HR 1130). 

Kidney Donor and Family
Ask your lawmakers to cosponsor the Living Donor Protection Act (H.R. 4616/S. 2584) to prohibit insurance companies from denying or limiting life, disability and long term care insurance to living donors and from charging higher premiums. The bill also clarifies that living organ donors may use time granted through the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to recover from donation. 
Elderly woman with child  Ask your Representative to co-sponsor the ESRD Choice Act (H.R. 5659).  It will give individuals with kidney failure access to Medicare Advantage (MA) plans and will require education for individuals with end stage renal disease (ESRD) to aid them in making informed decisions about MA coverage.

2016 Kidney Patient Summit Patient advocates from the National Kidney Foundationand others were in Washington, DC to meet with their Representatives and Senators.  They asked for support for efforts to improve early detection and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD); cosponsor the Living Donor Protection Act (H.R.4616/S.2584); and increase funding for several important kidney programs. We need your voice too!

U.S. Capitol Building Ask your Representative to co-sponsor the Comprehensive Immunosuppressive Drug Coverage for Kidney Transplant Patients Act (H.R. 6139).  It will help provide a safety net for kidney patients who lack health coverage for the immunosuppressive medications required to help maintain their transplant.
